can you prove it??
“Life is a Bitch and then you die”
I have been pondering over the issue of why I take everything so seriously, jokes, to be laughed at, things that need to be side stepped, inconsequential things. A thin line separating cynic and a skeptic as both of them question everything that comes their way. The very first statement which I know, probably live by, is totally exaggerated is a statement by a dead pessimist.
A cynic is will probably never be disappointed, as they know/feel that the worst things are on a crash course in a trajectory to them. Nice thought indeed, sounds like panacea, never to be disappointed, never to expect anything to happen, and anything that does happen, is thus a bonus.
The world in itself a total conundrum and has the acerbity which can be totally vexing. You can pish your way without achieving anything useful. The result, unless you happen to be clairvoyant, you are confused, lost and a very unpleasant feeling akin to panic. A cynic will never put himself in this position.
A cynics view may sound entirely altruistic self involved, devoid of feelings, but I reckon it is a way of dealing with soul-searching, trying to find peace with ones self, with incessant questioning everything that comes their way. Where cynicism lies, pessimism persists.
An egotist, egocentric, anti-social and / or arrogant individual from childhood will hardly ever turn cynical. The normally end up as skeptics, who I personally would steer clear from. Though however cynical you might be, like I do most of the time tell myself, no matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up. A catch-22 where in you possibly cant win.
The cynic and the skeptic have two views of the world. The views may be close, but they never meet. The difference in the questions put forth by both is that, a skeptic questions everything, but cynic is a smart to question the things pertaining to him. Skepticism questions what we know and how we know it. Skeptic believes that there can never be a fact/premise without a logical scientific explanation. A Skeptic may sometimes question just for the heck that he has to question. The confrontation of a skeptic and a cynic is very entertaining. In my experience this has always ended up in dead-lock with slander and lot of entertainment for onlooker.
Cynicism in a way has a sour connotation, but has made me a wee bit careful in the way I would normally deal with things. I think my “deep thought”(as my friend deej puts it) is not entirely a bad thing as I thought it was. I also learnt my confusion is not confusion but my ability to question things.
